User agreement

Accepting these terms

Chancelings is developed and operated by ORANGE WHITE CO., LTD. of 8F-2, No. 35, Chengde Rd., Sec., Taipei City, Taiwan ("we", "us"). By opening the game you agree to this user agreement. If you do not agree with it, please do not play. There is nothing to cancel and no account to close — closing the page ends the arrangement.

Who may play

Chancelings is intended for players aged 18 and over. It is not designed for children and is not directed at them. The club's theme is a card room, and the rating and store listing reflect that even though no real money is involved.

What this game is — and is not

• There is no purchase flow. Nothing in the game can be bought with real money.
• There is no cash-out, redemption, exchange or transfer of any kind.
• There is no wagering of real value, and no prizes with real value.
• Results are decided by the game's own rules for entertainment. Nothing is staked, so nothing is at risk, and no outcome models any real gambling product.

Virtual items

Passes, crests, tonics, companion fragments, companions and their forms are virtual items with no monetary value. The game has no currency at all — there is no balance, no price and nothing to spend. They exist only inside the game on your device.

• You do not own them as property; they are part of the game's state.
• They cannot be sold, traded, gifted, transferred or redeemed for anything.
• What you hold can change with a game update, and a reset clears it.
• No refund can be given for virtual items, because none of them are ever purchased.

Your save

Your progress is kept only in your own browser's local storage. We do not hold a copy and cannot restore one. Clearing site data, using a private window, switching browsers or devices, or pressing Reset Progress in Settings will end that save permanently.

Licence and conduct

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to play Chancelings for your own entertainment.

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile or modify the game, or tamper with its saved state to alter progress or unlocks.
• Redistribute, resell, sublicense or repackage the game or its assets.
• Present the game as a real-money gambling product, or use it to solicit, advertise or facilitate real-money gambling.
• Use the game's name, artwork or companion designs in your own product without written permission.

Ownership

The game, its name, its code, its interface, its music and sound, and all eighteen companion portraits and other artwork are owned by ORANGE WHITE CO., LTD. or licensed to it. Nothing in this agreement transfers any of those rights to you.

No warranty

The game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Behaviour can vary between devices, browsers and operating system versions.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from playing the game, including lost progress, lost virtual items or device issues. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case only the exclusions permitted there apply.

Changes and contact

This agreement may be updated as the game changes. The date at the top is the notice, and continuing to play after an update means you accept the current version.
