Summary
Chancelings has no account system, no login and no server of its own. Everything the game remembers — your display name, avatar, passes, crests, tonics, companions, task progress and settings — is written to your own device and read back from there. None of it is sent anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.
What the game stores on your device
The game keeps a single save in your browser's local storage, under the key
chancelingsSave. It is a plain record of your play state:

This save lives only in the browser or app container you played in. It is not synchronised across your devices, and no copy of it exists anywhere else.
What we do not collect
- No names, email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses.
- No accounts, passwords or sign-in of any kind.
- No payment details — the game has no purchase flow at all.
- No location data, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access.
- No advertising identifiers, device fingerprints or cross-app tracking.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage statistics.
The game does not talk to a network. It runs from a single page with all of its images, audio and code loaded locally. There is no API to call and no request to send, so there is no traffic to log.
This website
The pages you are reading are static HTML, CSS and a small script file. They set no cookies, run no analytics and embed no trackers, social widgets, comment systems or advertising.
Whoever hosts these pages may keep ordinary server request logs — the sort every web server writes, typically an IP address, a timestamp and the page requested. That is standard hosting operation and is used only to keep the site available and secure. We do not combine it with anything, and there is nothing on the site to combine it with.
Third parties
No third-party SDKs, ad networks, analytics providers or social platforms are used in the game or on this site. Fonts and images are served from the same place as the page itself, so no external host is contacted when you load it.
We do not sell, rent, share or disclose personal information, because none is collected in the first place.
Deleting your data
You are in full control of the only copy that exists. Any of these clears it:
- Reset Progress in the game's Settings page. It confirms first, then returns the club to its opening balances.
- Clearing site data or local storage for this game in your browser settings.
- Uninstalling the app or deleting the folder you are running it from.
Because there is no backup anywhere, a cleared save cannot be recovered by us or by you. Private or incognito windows generally discard the save when the window closes.
Children
Chancelings is intended for players aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone — regardless of age — because it collects no information at all.
Changes to this policy
If the game ever gains a feature that changes how data is handled, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date is the notice.
